These puzzle games let the board, move limit, or available space create the pressure. None of the recommended modes asks you to beat a countdown.
A timer changes the question a puzzle asks. Instead of only finding a strong move, you must also find it quickly. That can be exciting, but it is not always the kind of challenge you want from a short break or a difficult logic board.
Untimed does not have to mean aimless. These games replace the countdown with other kinds of pressure: a board can fill, a move allowance can run out, or one poor route can make the remaining puzzle impossible.
Choose an endless block or number game for an open-ended run, a path or sorting puzzle for methodical planning, or a word ladder when you want a clear target. The timer note under each game names the untimed mode and explains what can still end the puzzle.
